Adidas National Showcase

This trip would not have been successful without the help of the following parents: Sharon Myers who was an angel in arranging everything for the team. Mary Merkel, Chris Maudlin, Kim & Scott Demoss, Sharon Hillman, Pete Harrington, Dan Fowler, Karen Reister, Jim Spinelli and Carol Farrington for supervising and shuttling the players to and from the fields, hotel and of course mall.

This past weekend (July 18th - 20th) the Roncalli Girls Soccer participated in the Adidas National Showcase. The Lady Rebels played 8 games against some of the top teams from Ohio, Tennessee, and Georgia. Eventhough the results weren't spectacular, the play was good and showed big improvement over the days at the tournament. Friday, July 18th started off at 4:00am when we all met in the parking lot of Roncalli High School for the five and a half hour drive to Strongsville, OH. While most of the girls did get some sleep on the drive up they were very tired for our first game against Houston High School from Memphis, TN. The Lady Rebels lost that game 2-1 and all thirty rebels played at least 10 minutes in the 40 minute game. With only 1 hour rest the Rebel team took on an impressive team Mt. Notre Dame from Ohio and lost 4-0. The rest of the day was used to catch up on some much needed rest before we played our next game at 7:50AM. Below are pictures from the trip and first game.
